Welcome to my Web site!

When people hear about my woodturning hobby, I am usually asked about the process and to see some of my pieces. So I decided to share this information with anyone that is interested in learning more about it.

I started woodturning in High School back in the 1970's and went on for a degree in Industrial Arts Education. Due to a serious life threatening injury, my career path changed to a health related technical field in Orthotics and Prosthetics (Designing and fitting braces and artificial limbs) which kept me away from woodturnings until recently when I joined the LI Woodturners Association where through demonstrations and talking with other members, I have revitalized my interest and techniques in woodturning. "I am fascinated with the process of seeing a chunk of wood that might be tossed into the fire, turned into a work of art in harmony with nature. I love the texture and design of a turned object." I am continuously striving to improve my techniques and designs in woodturning.

Since I only turn in my spare time I hope that some day I will be able to create woodturnings that may good enough to be featured in a gallery.
At our woodturning club, we regularly feature famous turners from around the world. These one day demonstrations help me develop new techniques and creative ideas. In the spring of 2006, I also had the pleasure of taking a week long workshop with Ray Key at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I feel that it has helped advance my skills tremendously and I would encourage anyone that has the time and money to take a workshop there.

When I look back at some of my earlier pieces I realize that there has been a constant improvement in skill and design concepts, so I take each project as a learning experience and always keep trying to reach the next skill level.
